First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Tacoma, Washington, is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  In one sentence by Thomas Campbell (one of the founding fathers of our faith), the basis for our ideas about Christian community and the way the Church should look and operate is described:  "The Church of Christ upon earth is essentially, intentionally, and constitutionally one."  Although each church is congregationally governed, we join our brothers and sisters in the Christian Churches, here and around the world, in support of the many and varied ministries of our denomination, both nationally and regionally.  To find out more about these, please check out the links below:

CHRISTIAN CHURCH (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST)
We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.  As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord's Table, as God has welcomed us.  - Disciples of Christ Statement of Identity

WEEK OF COMPASSION
Week of Compassion is the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. We seek to equip and empower disciples to alleviate the suffering of others through disaster response, humanitarian aid, sustainable development and the promotion of mission opportunities.
